WHAT IS SINGULARITY UNIVERSITY?
Singularity University was jointly founded by Dr. Peter H. Diamandis and Dr. Ray Kurzweil. The concept of a new university that could leverage the power of exponential technologies to solve humanity’s grand challenges was proposed in September at NASA Research Park in September 2008. The following year a campus was established at NASA Research Park campus in the heart of Silicon Valley and the first SU Executive and Graduate Studies program was lunched.
The mission of the University is to assemble, educate and inspire a new generation of leaders who strive to understand and utilize exponentially advancing technologies to address humanity’s grand challenges.
The aim of the Global Impact CEE contest
Singularity University is a real think-tank of Silicon Valley, which organizes 10+ Global Impact Competitions around the word in countries such as: USA, Canada, Central America, Brazil, Russia, Spain, etc. For the first time CEE&SEE will be on this virtual SU Global map by organizing the very first GIC in the Region.
The base question of the competitions is:
How can we improve the standard of living—health, education, and security—of 10 million people in the next 10 years through the use of any kind of exponentially improving technology?
